This painting is my tribute to the life found in California’s coastal waters including the Giant Macrocystis Kelp, the orange Garibaldi Fish, the Ocher Seastar, the Grouper, and a Rock Crab.

Oil painter, printmaker, muralist, faux finish artist and educator, BEN SATUREN, was inspired to portray ocean life while snorkeling in the Red Sea where he observed subjects rarely portrayed on canvas.
